Place has been there since the late 60s, and has probably not undergone any renovations since then! Has a retro look to it, the food is insane, cheap, filling, and the staff work very hard over there.

Ever since I had my first burger here, I've been coming back again and again. I have also recommended this place to everyone I know that wants a good burger. They are very fair pricing and taste amazing!!

this place has been around longer than I can remember. It is a Scarborough landmark. Food may not compete against fancy downtown burger joints but the experience alone is worth going. Not to worry - food is great too.

Their burgers are to AMAZING. Friendly service and fast service. I do recommend you give it a try

Always go here for comfort food ! The burgers are huge and juicy, with a ton of toppings to go on top.. My son really loves the onion rings, and I love the big fries. Been going here since I was a teen ( at least 20 years ago) You can always count on good food. take out only no seating. Also very clean looking... which is a biggie for me

Driving up to Johnny's Hamburgers is like driving back to the past. Nothing has changed about this eatery in over 40 years, not the decor and not the great burgers. The bright, old orange building is a landmark in Scarborough, frequented by die-hard burger lovers, delivers consistently great burgers and equally tasty fries. There are no frills here, you order your food and eat it in your car. The burger is one of the best I have ever had. The addition of sauteed onions heightens the flavour immensely. The fries and gravy, YUM! The cook fills half the carton with fries and adds gravy, then adds more fries and tops with even more gravy! Gravy distribution is heavenly. I drive 45 minutes every time I have a craving for Johnny's. Yes it is worth it. If you're looking for an un-gourmet delicious burger joint, try it. You will not be disappointed!

The burger here is -ok- but it's open super late and you get a giant burger for your money. I wasn't impressed the first time I tried their burger but there's something in them that makes me think I will get a craving for it again sometime down the road.
This place is purely take out and very retro looking.

this is the second time ,reviewing this place, I love it who cares how the outside looks, just check out how busy it always is, why would anyone drive to Richmond hill (joe Mas) this is still a great burger joint,,, have been going there for a long time and the prices are only about $1.50 more than they were when I was 16, I'm now over 50.and 100 kms away and still go when we're in the area , lots of memories.. I do miss the old owners.

THis place is so overrated! Are people nuts? Their Hamburger & fries is SO BLAND & tasteless.! Its nothing special at all. You cannot find any cheaper quality beef than that. Place totally stinks. Also the place is 20 years past due for a RENO! Their gravy is one of the worst. Its all fake & processed & so concentrated. Totally boggles my mind how anyone can consider this place to be a good hamburger joint. Their "success" was all luck timing & most people not knowing any better. Look at the location. Look at the demographic in that area. Who in that area know where the real fine exquisitely superior burget joints are? All its good for is when you happen to be in the area & are hungry for food & theyre conveniently open and ready to serve. Thats all this place is good for. You want a good burger. go to STEER IN in Richmond Hill. Their Fries & gravy is superior & especially their hamburger!! Theire are dozens of mom & pop class burger joints out their people are blind & not discovered yet I guess

Johnny's is by far the best burgers place in the city!! Their burgers are great, fries with gravy are always good and their milkshakes are awesome!! One of my favorite places to go, much better than all of the chain restaurants out there!

If you thought you have had the best burger ever, think again unless you have eaten at Johnny's. After a long night of clubbing, i always have time to come here no matter what time is it.

A GOOD OLD FASHIONED BURGER THAT'S COOKED TO PERFECTION. YOU WILL USUALLY FIND THAT THERE'S A BIG LINE TO GET THIS DELICIOUS TREAT, AND AS THE OLD SAYING GOES... ANYTHING GREAT IS WORTH WAITING FOR AND THIS BURGER IS PHENOMENAL!!!

I read all the reviews and decided to try this place out. Disappointed in the result. A flat piece of pressed meat does not make a juicy hamburger. The charcoal grill may be the star but my hamburger came out black and charred. No care was taken in making this lunch and the fries tasted like they came out of the freezer and were limp and greasy..

This use to be a burger institution with long lineups frequently seen during the evenings and weekends. I haven't been there for over a year, but last time I went, the burgers were okay. They weren't bad and you could still choose your toppings, but they kind of tasted like a burger you'd get at Harvey's. So, as long as you're expecting the amazing burger people use to mention, this place would be fine. Mark out of 10 = 7

I haven't been here for a while but I used to crave the burgers and fries with gravy at least once a week. So yummy!! And I always only ate in my car. For some reason it was never the same if I brought it home. I think I will need to start going back again since it's on my way home from work, lol!

This place actual sucks now. The old greek owners used to be 1 of the main attractions. But now they have sold the business and the food and hospitality just ain't what it used to be. sorry Johnny's used to love the place but you've changed your burgers to the kind you buy from No Frills in a big box..Eww......the shakes still do rock though!!!

I've been going since I was thirteen. 17 years later I'm still there on a regular. Burgers are amazing and the taste is the same. They don't compromise on quality which I love. It's Scarborough's best kept secret.

OMG - even with the influx of a lot of hamburger joints - Johnny's is still within the top 3. Love their charboiled hamburgers, their buns are so soft and has a touch of sweetness and their poutine - deeeeelicious. They are opened quite late, esp on the weekends so good times to bring your friends to enjoy a late burger with don't forget poutine.
