Description
Portico could be called the business cafeteria, since so many local businesspeople go there for lunch, but it is much more than that. While there isn't a dress code, casual-dressy attire is preferred. The food can be best described as global fusion. Vegetarian options are available, as are accommodations for food allergies, vegan diets or other dietary restrictions. If you're bringing the little ones, you can request a child-sized meal. Private functions can be accommodated in the dining room and bar, as well as some of the hotel meeting rooms for conferences and large groups. See the website for more information about meeting reservations. A handicap-friendly washroom is accessible by elevator. Reservations are recommended, and can be made by e-mail (contact information is included or on the website. Go to the website for menus and photo and video tours of the newly-renovated space.

Great place, not an extremely extensive menu which is a good thing because I can make my mind up more easily! Varied mix of cuisines (or atleast my 2 favourites- Thai and Italian!) I liked my pad thai and my friend liked the lamb chops. Would love to go back again!

I wish I could walk in with shorts and sandals but I know they don't like that so I put on something nice when I go here. They have some good food and I like the crowd ... no thugs, lol. They have paid attention to detail for sure.

This restaurant had a very stylish, intimate setting and atmosphere. When I visited the restaurant, I was the only diner, but it's most likely because it was a bit early for dinner (approximately 5:00 pm). The waitress who served me was extremely friendly, patient and helpful. I ordered the mussels as an appetizer, which were delicious, and ordered the grilled surf and turf for the main course, which consists of shrimp, scallops, chicken breast and a lamb chop, with potatoes and vegetables. Overall, the main course tasted good, but the scallops tasted a tad plain and the chicken was a bit dry. For dessert, I had the creme brulee, which tasted a bit too "eggy" for my liking. I returned to the restaurant about a week afterward and ordered the pad thai, which extremely salty and sour and which I didn't enjoy. Overall, I would probably return, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do so. Paying consideration to both of my experiences, I would rate this a 3/5.

Portico serves Italian fusion cuisine with Asian accents. The dining room is elegantly decorated with nice chairs so you feel comfortable while enjoying your dining experience. The Steamed PEI mussels are great - I have never had mussels from PEI before, very tasty. Lots of Italian menu items, and fine dining fare as well. Prices are a little high but the quality of the food is fantastic.
