When you click the ‘Try It Free’ button, you’ll be brought to this page. All you need to do is add your business name and email to get started (no credit card info required for your free trial).

Set up your account

Customize your account 

Hover over the FreshBooks logo in the top left corner, and click the ‘Update your logo’ button that appears.

Once you upload your logo, the menu colour will automatically update to the dominant colour in your logo. Next, click the ‘Settings’ tab in the top right corner.

Set up your business info

Fill out your company profile. Then, go through all the tabs and update the info to reflect your business and preferences.

Now you should be ready to start using FreshBooks to get organized and get paid.

Send your first invoice

Click ‘Invoices’ and then click ‘Create an Invoice.’

After selecting/adding a client, describing your work and spelling out your terms, you should have something that looks like this:

You can either save your invoice as a draft or send it my email or snail mail (based on your client’s preference).

Start tracking expenses 

To begging tracking expenses, click the ‘Expenses’ tab and then click ‘Add an Expenses.’ Once you’ve filled out the form, you expenses will be tracked. You even have the option to upload an image of the receipt you received.
