Summer is around the corner, meaning better weather and longer days. There’s no better way to take advantage of the weather than winding down on a nice patio. The patio scene in Toronto and the GTA is thriving, with so many great spots to grab a drink and enjoy. Here’s a roundup of the best of them:


The Addisons Backyard – 456 Wellington Street, Toronto


The famous Addisons open their backyard for all to enjoy during the summer months. Enjoy $4 drinks on Thursdays (before 10) and play some jumbo lawn games like Connect 4 in the well-decorated establishment.

This east-end institution was beautifully renovated last summer. Its rooftop patio loft overlooks The Beaches and Woodbine Park, matching the scenery with it’s new aesthetic.

Voted Mississauga’s top patio, &Company’s rooftop patio sits in the heart of the city’s downtown core. It offers a great view of the city and a seasonally inspired menu for the summer.





La Libre – 14 Dupont Street, Toronto

La Libre is a backyard patio tucked behind Playa Hacienda. Its Yucatan-inspired cuisine makes it perfect for the summer, with orange-marinated ceviche and a slew of tequila-based drinks.





The Slip – 235 Queens Quay West, Toronto

The Slip’s massive patio is situated by the waterfront at Harbourfront Centre. It’s open every day from 12:00 PM until late in the summer, so you can stop by for a drink any time.

Dimmi’s Woodbridge location features a small, older-styled patio, but it isn’t the aesthetic that makes it so compelling. This place has arguably the best sangria in the GTA, giving Dimmi its rightful spot on this list.

This swanky King West rooftop lounge features cabanas, an ice cream parlour and a 155 foot long pool to go along with its beautiful view of the city. If that isn’t enough to catch your eye, take a stab at its fancy menu. It’s open for brunch, lunch or dinner.
