With the February weather warming up and March Break just around the corner, many kids are getting excited with all the fun things to do around Toronto. We’ve put together a list of some of the top activities and events taking place in the GTA for you to have some quality time with your family!
Disney on Ice is coming to Toronto and will be a hit for the little ones! You’ll get to see Dory and Hank from Finding Dory, the Man emotions of Disney Pixar’s Inside Out, and Queen Elsa and Princess Anna from Disney’s Frozen. There will also be appearances from Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Woody and Buzz Lightyear, and Mickey and Minnie. This will be a fun family event for Disney lovers of all ages!

Toronto’s LEGOLAND is a blast for kids of all ages. Inside the Discovery Centre you’ll find 14 great family attractions. There’s a LEGO 4D cinema, Star Wars MINILAND, a factory tour, and a playzone. They even have two rides for kids, Merlin’s Apprentice and Kingdom Quest.

One of the most captivating children’s stories is being performed by The National Ballet of Canada. Pinocchio, adapted into a ballet, is the story of a man who wants a child so badly that he creates one out of wood, only for it to come to life and start dancing. Pinocchio makes its full-length balletic world premiere, created by Will Tuckett.

The AGO is always a great go-to for family fun. They have great setups for family holidays and this March break is no different. The AGO has set up a giant life-sized maze in the heart of the gallery. Walk through the maze to the studio, where kids can use their imagination and create a cardboard city or a miniature museum in a box. If cardboard isn’t enough kids can opt in to build with big blue blocks. At the end of your day, unwind with family yoga or take a museum tour with your family.

Wizard World Fun Park is the ultimate destination for March break fun in Toronto. Back for their 12th year, the indoor fun park has entertainment for the whole family, including 25 mechanical and inflatable rides, an area for children under 5, arts and crafts, and the largest mobile reptile zoo. This coming weekend, shake off the winter blues and kick off March break at Sugar Beach. The beach is being transformed into a Quebec-style sugar shack (cabane a sucre). There will be food trucks, maple taffy on snow, and tones of Quebec favorites along with live entertainment and a winter marketplace. Stick around and grab a drink from the specialty bar and watch ice carving and maple syrup cooking demos.

One of Disney’s most popular movies makes its way on stage to capture the hearts of all Mary Poppins fans. This is the perfect to check out the show if you haven’t already had the chance. It’s a live musical adventure that will keep you on the edge of your seats. We also found tickets on Groupon.

While the waterpark is open throughout the year, they’ve created a special promotion for those staying over March Break. Although it’s a bit further than the GTA, their promotion offers hotel accommodations. It will be like a vacation without the long drive or flight, but you still get to sit by the pool and let the kids run wild. The package includes hotel accommodations, four ‘two day’ water park passes, kids eat free, and 4 passes to Adventure Heroes Laser Ride, Wild Safari Mini Pitt and Traffic Slam Bumper Cars. There will be enough entertainment to last your trip.

Into the Woods Jr is a musical retelling of the famous Brothers Grimm fables. The story starts off with a baker and his wife on a journey to break a witch’s curse and running into many infamous fairy tale characters along the way. Characters include Cinderella, Jack and the beanstalk, Little Red Riding Hood all woven into the Tony Award winning musical.

This March break you can travel to Toronto’s very own fairy-tale castle taking you back in time to a world of Knights and Maidens. Casa Loma will have themed activities including arts and crafts, cookie decorating, face painting, and hot chocolate. Check out the event on Groupon.
