The challenges that we face in life often seem to just happen to us, which can feel really confusing, frustrating, or difficult to endure at times. In my journey with psychotherapy I've learned that through this practice, moving into the challenges, darkness, anxiety, depression, dealing with trauma, or feeling gridlocked in any one position can uncover gifts about ourselves we might not have realized without daring to weather the storm. As author, Paulo Coelho once wrote, "You will never be able to escape from your heart. So it's better to listen to what it has to say." While acknowledging the uniqueness of your individual life and circumstances, this transformative practice is useful for anyone. Here, you are supported and assisted while you explore, sort, and express your innermost, complex, terrain. Without judgment or limitations, and with a compassionate and traveled professional, this space is devoted to you. Visit my personal webpage: www.deepseapsychology.com for more information. Welcome! The decision to attend therapy can be a significant moment in one's life. People seek therapy to deal with issues, conflicts and problems associated with interpersonal relationships, professional issues, family struggles, unwanted symptoms, behaviors or feelings, a need to process painful events or desired self-exploration. Given the importance of these issues, it is critical that you find a therapist with whom you feel comfortable. In order to help you with this vital process, I would like to share my philosophy and approach to therapy. I believe the primary condition that underlies a successful therapeutic relationship is the creation of a safe place for one to explore conflicts, issues and feelings. When this is possible, I believe meaningful and significant growth can occur. Growth takes many forms, and the type of growth desired is best decided upon by careful collaboration between the client and myself. I seek to create an atmosphere that is warm, empathetic, and safe while encouraging clients to be open to exploration. This dynamic has proven to foster the kind of environment I believe that is conducive for growth and change. With this relationship in place, we can begin to bring feelings and patterns to awareness and use a variety of techniques to encourage positive healing. I AM NOW REGISTERED WITH MOST INSURANCE COMPANIES AS A SERVICE PROVIDER AND CAN ALSO DO DIRECT BILLING.

Out of Pain and Despair Come Peace, Freedom, and Ultimately Joy It takes strength and courage to acknowledge the difficulties you are experiencing, and reaching out for help can be a confusing and frightening process. I recognize the need for clients to feel safe; having a meaningful therapeutic relationship with your therapist is integral to the work taking place. I view people as individuals who are unique with their own ways of being and functioning day to day. I feel truly honored to hear people’s stories and my desire and motivation to work collaboratively and respectfully with people at their own pace is genuine. Of course we cannot change what has happened in the past, but we can work together to better understand and resolve the challenges you are faced with in the present. We will bring to light long-standing behavior patterns or negative perceptions that may have led to your current difficulties. With my help as your therapist I will provide a safe healing environment and help you develop a healthier and more rewarding approach to life. Beyond the knowledge that my training and approaches bring, I believe that healing can only happen in a place of inclusivity, respect, compassion and safety. There are many reasons that people seek out therapeutic counsel; most often having come to a point of crisis or uncertainty as to how to move forward. I believe everyone is entitled to have their story heard in a non-judgmental, safe, trusting environment. You may not know where to begin, but we will start wherever you are at.

All of us have felt stressed out, anxious, or down at one point or another. Sometimes we can handle it quite well, get back on track, and keep going without much difficulty. Other times we are much more affected. If you find that the situation you are currently dealing with is interfering with your sleep, eating patterns, mood, coping ability, concentration, focus, relationships or any part of your daily functioning, it would be helpful to talk with a psychologist. I believe that you are the expert about yourself and your experience. You are capable of fulfilling your potential for growth, coping with life’s difficulties, and moving forward. I can provide a therapeutic environment that is comfortable, non-judgmental, and empathetic in which to discover and hone your internal resources. By working collaboratively with you and focusing on specific goals it is my hope that together we can come up with solutions to current difficulties and modify unhelpful thinking and behaviour. I look forward to meeting you!
