PHFC was developed from over ten years of serving families in high risk and challenging circumstances. It was found through personal experience and growing research that when children are able to address life's difficulties in a community of connected caregivers and are able to stay connected to caregivers that are close to their hearts, they are more able to recover and adapt. Facilitating connection and repair with past and present caregivers (be it bio-family, adoptive family, or any other caring person) reduces attachment distress and releases adaptive energy that children need in order to continue healthy development. Through all my personal and professional experience it seems that the foundation for much of our suffering and of our healing is in the context of our relationships with each other. I have found that exploring and unpacking our relationship experience while managing alarm provides new pathways for healing. I love seeing people's excitement as they become newly aware of the thoughts and feelings of their family, their community, and even their own selves. May we find more hope together. Together may we find your pathways home. Contact me today to get started.

I am an empathetic, non-judgmental therapist who works collaboratively with you to help you navigate through life. Although I believe you have the capacity to resolve your own problems, we all need help from time to time. This is accomplished once a sound, mutually respectful therapeutic relationship is established. Has your partner cheated? Are you feeling lost? Angry? Scared? Are you having difficulties communicating? Are relationships deteriorating? Maybe your child/adolescent is having difficulties adjusting to separation/divorce and/or are their lives are full of changes that are proving difficult to manage? Counselling can be an important element to help you navigate through life. Are you feeling unsafe? Unstable? Depressed? Anxious? Are you having trouble sleeping or bombarded with unwelcome thoughts/feelings or avoiding them all together? If you are experiencing symptoms that are negatively affecting your life, it is possible to reduce or eliminate their impact. Couples therapy begins with establishing rapport, hearing and understanding each individual, and allowing us to devise a treatment plan together to address relationship issues. Trauma therapy works to create safety and stabilization for both mind and body, processing the emotions connected to past traumatic event/s and reconnecting with life.

You want to experience heart to heart connections in all your relationships and what I've seen is the best way to get this is for you to trust and love yourself. If you are suffering from anxiety, depression, fear, conflict in any type of relationship, stress, grief or abuse, or if your company is experiencing internal conflicts, please don't hesitate to call. MISSION: To provide a safe and comfortable environment in which you are able to relax and come to understand and connect with what you feel and what you need. To empower and facilitate an authentic connection with your inner voice that knows the truth and speaks with confidence and clarity. I have worked in the field of crisis counselling for over fifteen years. I have worked successfully with people suffering from a variety of problems such as anxiety, depression, fear, conflict in relationships and work situations, stress, grief and abuse. I offer a holistic approach to understanding and healing, taking into account the body, mind, spirit connection. To me, the counsellor role is a sacred trust, the cornerstones of which are based on respect, compassion, honesty and trust. Your healing journey is unique, and you will find the answers to your questions and dilemmas inside yourself. I will act as a guide by providing unconditional acceptance and asking questions meant to point you in the direction of your answers. I will also provide information and resources necessary to support your progress. One of the most important things you will learn is how to communicate in a non-violent manner. Most relationships fail when one or both people do not have the depth of understanding and ability to own and take full responsibility for how they feel. As a result, they will blame each other, create walls, distance, hurt feelings, resentment and resistance. This scenario is at epidemic proportions in our society, and it is the root cause of marital conflict, friendships and dysfunctional, toxic work environments. Communicating in a non-violent manner requires that we not only value and embrace our emotions, but we must also learn how to take full responsibility for how we feel. We must practise eliminating judgement, assumption, interpretation and blaming others for how we feel. (This does not mean that others should not be held responsible for what they do.) In time we will come to understand that the emotion which arises naturally within us is our friend. It is there to give us information about what needs are not being met, or what needs are being met. In this society we have learned not only to judge and blame each other for how we feel, but we have also been taught that 'negative' emotions are 'bad' emotions. I am here to tell you that there are no 'bad' emotions. They simply rise up inside of us in order to inform us of when our needs are being met and when our needs are not being met, so that we can then figure out how to get our needs met. All human beings have universal needs such as the need for respect, encouragement, inclusion, security, safety, peace, trust, equality, connection, confidence, clarity and many more. Also, when we are able to process, understand and release our emotions we become freer inside to connect with our intuition which is the compass of the soul.
