COUPLES, MARRIAGE & INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING As a COUPLES & MARRIAGE and INDIVIDUAL COUNSELLING therapist for people of all ages and backgrounds, I bring years of experience in the field and a great love for the work I do. If you are struggling to find your way to a better place in your life experience, the support of a compassionate, effective therapist can make all the difference. RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING FOR COUPLES This is not necessarily easy work but the rewards can be enormous! Rediscover the spark of intimacy and a connection that is deeper, and more freeing than you may have ever imagined. I can help you track and calm the negative cycle that keeps you stuck in a repetitive dance and and then discover new ways to communicate that will build the love bond between you. Instead of finding yourself caught in an endless cycle of anger and hurt, discover how to bring your loved one closer. Some of the benefits you will experience from couple and marriage therapy include a greater feeling of ~ trust ~ understanding ~ emotional safety These create a foundation for greater intimacy and fun as well as long lasting happiness. My therapeutic approach encompasses a number of therapeutic approaches but primarily is based on the EFT - Emotionally Focused Therapy for Couples road map. A proven method originated by Dr. Sue Johnson, research indicates that over 86% of couple participants report improved happiness and satisfaction with their relationship with long lasting results. COUNSELLING FOR INDIVIDUALS Sometimes a feeling of discouragement and despair about the state of our lives can derail us. I can help you identify and resolve what blocks you from having the full life you long for. My approach respects the uniqueness of each person. I provide a safe space to explore and diffuse what gets in the way of being who you want to be. I help you access your innate wisdom and resources so that you can feel more connected to yourself and others. I use talk therapy, expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, body centered approaches such as focusing oriented therapy, and EMDR. I will help you cultivate self compassion. Healing is an important journey and I am always honored to accompany people on that journey. My areas of specific specialty and experience include trauma, cultural trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and low self worth. I have a certificate in Aboriginal Focusing Oriented Therapy for Complex Trauma and I teach in the Masters of Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy program at Adler University. Body centered approaches are helpful because while our minds are busy trying to figure things out, our body sense usually has knowledge of what feels right. Expressive arts therapy is a powerful way to access parts of ourselves that words can't convey. Mindfulness helps us stay present and calm.

Deciding to engage in therapy is usually a result of suffering painful emotions, indescribable anxiety or being stuck in a life pattern that is destructive to relationships or oneself. I believe I have the experience and skills to help most clients navigate the most challenging circumstances life presents. These challenges may include difficulties in relationships, overwhelming emotions, addiction, a sense of hopeless and regret or grieving the death of a loved one. People seldom seek therapy unless they have tried to work through things on their own and decide they need help. I believe I can help you.
