Specialist in Life Crises, Stress Management, Depression, and Anxiety Lisa is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with 16 years of counselling experience. She has a Masters degree with honours in Counselling Psychology from UBC. Lisa has worked with a diverse population in her private practice for the past 10 years. In addition, she has provided counselling and facilitated and organized clinical groups at Family Services of the North Shore, at Delta Family Services, and at the Musqueam Indian Band. Lisa believes in peoples' natural tendency towards happiness and fulfillment. Sometimes, however, obstacles such as life crises, anxiety, stress, depression, and harmful habits can interfere with this natural process. Lisa has extensive clinical experience in helping her clients to work through their stress, anxiety, depression and life crises, and to successfully rebuild their lives. She has an eclectic clinical approach, which includes cognitive behavioural therapy, imagery work, and EMDR. Lisa has a deep passion for helping her clients to effect meaningful changes and to let go of harmful patterns. Contact Lisa today for more information or to book an appointment.

My approach respects the uniqueness of each person. I provide a safe space to explore and diffuse what gets in the way of being who you want to be. I help you access your innate wisdom and resources so that you can feel more connected to yourself and others. I use talk therapy, expressive arts therapy, mindfulness, body centered approaches such as focusing oriented therapy, and EMDR. I will help you cultivate self compassion. Healing is an important journey and I am always honored to accompany people on that journey. My areas of specific specialty and experience include trauma, cultural trauma, substance abuse, depression, anxiety, and low self worth. I have a certificate in Aboriginal Focusing Oriented Therapy for Complex Trauma and I teach in the Masters of Counseling Psychology and Art Therapy program at Adler University. Body centered approaches are helpful because while our minds are busy trying to figure things out, our body sense usually has knowledge of what feels right. Expressive arts therapy is a powerful way to access parts of ourselves that words can't convey. Mindfulness helps us stay present and calm.
