Magdalena Tornyai has been a Certified Canadian Counsellor since 2003, she is also a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors. She specialize in helping people of all ages struggling through difficult life situations, using solid, solution-focused therapy and inner child work approaches. She has more than 15 years supervised clinical experience during which she served children, youth and their families. Magdalena has counselled delinquent youth and adults with depression, aggression, violence, post traumatic stress syndrome and addiction issues. Magdalena works with Aboriginal families who are struggling with generational trauma, abuse and mental illness; she uses her skills in interpersonal neurobiology to treat adults who have experiences trauma, have relationship and domestic violence issues, depression and addiction. Magdalena Tornyai is trained and certified in the current, most advanced approach to therapy - Interpersonal Neurobiology. She uses this training to help people understand themselves in relation to their life journey and specifically, how their significant past experiences, present realities, and future goals might be interconnected in beneficial and detrimental ways. Magdalena uses a number of different modalities when treating her clients. Including: sensorimotor psychotherapy, play, creative art, sand tray therapy, guided meditation, somatic experiences therapy, self expressive therapy, cognitive behavioral and dialectical behavioral therapy, solution focused and attachment focused family therapy, body-mind-atunement therapy and Jungian Theory therapy.
