In finding a therapist, you might want to know a little bit about me. I’ve always had a passion for helping children who have experienced any kinds of hardship, no matter how big or small; my heart always reached out to them. From that, I quickly realized that many adults have had those kinds of experiences in their childhood but were never offered the chance of counselling then. That’s why my focus is on children and adults simultaneously. In other words, I work with children and adults to help them overcome situations in their lives in which they are stuck in. To achieve this, I use a highly client-centred approach because I believe that we have the innate ability to help ourselves; we just sometimes need outside help to find the inner resources. I also use trauma therapies to help overcome some of the more intense memories and situations. With children I use play as the primary approach to therapy and I take a highly child-led approach with some expressive therapy elements. I specialize in providing therapy to trauma-exposed children and adults including abuse, neglect, and others. I also provide counselling to children and parents of children going through the impact of divorce and separation. Contact me today for more information or to book an appointment.

Sears is devoted to counseling people through past trauma in order to help make their lives whole again. Who benefits from these services? Men, women, soldiers, first-responders, victims of abuse, really anyone experiencing pain. While Sears empowers all types of people in many different situations, he specializes with men and women who have had their lives interrupted by unresolved trauma. People with PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder) represent the worst level of trauma because the past unresolved traumatic event(s) involved death or sexual abuse. However, trauma is relative to each person and to the age at which an individual experienced the trauma. Sears’ style is direct, empowering people to heal from the past and move forward in a healthy way. Contact Sears today for more information or to book an appointment.

We will all, inevitably, at some point in our lives experience situations and emotions that we cannot make sense of. We may experience a whole host of feelings, which may include feeling lost, alone and confused, depressed and anxious, stressed, angry and frustrated or even fearful and terrified. Not knowing what to do or how to respond to such emotions and situations often makes us feel helpless and stuck. How can we make sense of something we cannot understand? How can we move forward when we have lost any sense of purpose and meaning? Counselling and Psychotherapy, often described as ‘talking therapies’, aim to assist people in times of such distress. To book an appointment for counselling, or to ask me any questions about how I can help you overcome depression, anxiety, addictions and low self-esteem, call me now, or email me. I am available on weekends.
