Welcome! I am a psychologist having many years of experience with expertise in hypnosis, meditation and many other strategies. I work primarily with individual adults but children and adolescents may be seen in the case of certain circumscribed problems. A full range of psychological services is offered including treatment related to worries, habit disorders, ailments and various health conditions. Clients have been seen for areas of difficulty relating to stress, anxiety, smoking cessation, weight loss, enuresis, thumb sucking, trichotillomania (hair pulling), skin conditions, self esteem, sleep problems, IBS, immune system enhancement, bruxism and many other problems. In addition to more common psychological therapies such as cognitive-behavioural, solution-oriented and so forth, I have special training in Hypnosis, Mind-Body Therapy (Rossi) and Buddhist Psychology methods including Meditation and Mindfulness. Most often a combination of therapies is employed. A free 30 minute first visit consult is available upon request. Otherwise, sessions last one hour. After obtaining a history, feedback is given as to my understanding of the condition and the therapeutic approach to be undertaken. Time permitting, therapy may be initiated at the first visit.Therapy is typically brief (one to six sessions). Call or Email Ivan Stephen Bilash for a free consultation now.

Relationships, communication with others, transitions, life changes and unexpected events are often difficult and stressful. Everyone runs into personal challenges from time to time, and for all kinds of different reasons. It is my belief that we are resilient human beings with all the intrinsic resources and strengths to help us resolve and heal any issues we have to deal with. Nevertheless, it can be very helpful to have the support of a professional, who is not connected to one's personal life and who can provide a new perspective, tools, and coping strategies when dealing with life's adversities. • Passionate about providing the highest level of professional counselling services • Diverse life experiences, wide range of training and expertise in areas that many people struggle with • View of therapeutic services as ongoing and preventative • Increase quality of life by conducting intermittent, long-term therapy to work on existential and spiritual concerns

Art Therapy is an effective alternative to traditional talk therapy. It is a great fit for teenagers, creatives, young adults, and anyone wanting to examine their emotions, behaviours and life in a new way. Individuals come to me because previous ways of coping are not working for them and they want to face their challenges in a healthy way. Some individuals have been in traditional talk therapy for years without seeing much progress. Often they are feeling stuck or unable to move through the challenges they are experiencing. I believe that breaking free from old habits and self-destructing behaviour is possible, and that understanding the underlying motivation for current behaviour and healing old wounds is a necessary and important part of the process. Expressing oneself in art also allows us to tap into our non-verbal, subconscious side, which ultimately leads to greater amounts of internal peace and personal expansion I come from a client-centered, mindfulness-based perspective with the understanding that everyone is the expert of their own lives. Using art therapy allows for an integrative approach which gets tailored specifically to your goals, needs, and innate disposition towards life and learning. I provide a safe and inspiring environment, as well as the tools and compassion required to embark together on this journey of self-discovery. I understand the language of emotions and can work with you to create healthy alternatives for authentic self-expression and wellbeing. My use of art therapy draws upon my own experience working through disconnection from myself and a need to find ways to manage my emotions. I have worked with refugees in displaced camps and high functioning executives; but the most challenging battle has been managing my own fears, anxieties, and insecurities.

The name Earth of Light stands for the fact that the coarsest of matter may be turned into light. Likewise, the crudest of men has the potential to transform and the opportunity to awaken in this lifetime. Transformation naturally happens as a result of being with what is, whatever that reality may be. When your reality is seen as it is – with no mind involvement – it effortlessly transforms into what can be. That which is awakened in you during transformation is truth, which is the light you are. The end result of this alchemical process is a body of light, hence the business name Earth of Light. The Native chef on the logo symbolizes the ancestral heritage of Canada, the red man having come closest to living in harmony with our native land. It is also meant to illustrate that all man and woman have an inner chef, waiting to be given birth to and wanting to break free from the chains of societal conditioning. Seeking to be a force of transformation beyond borders, Earth of Light donates 10% of all profits to Friends to Mankind. The simple but profound mission of this international non-profit organization is to bring awareness to humanity, with the faith that this awareness will one day translate into people doing what they can from where they are and affirming that they are friends to mankind. In the spirit of collaboration, the therapists of our network are also encouraged to offer free counselling to clients in financial straits.
