I have been driving Toyotas since 2004. I brought in my father and in-laws to buy their Toyotas. My 2002 Camry is a Japanese-made, still on a road, drives great. And so was my 2002 Sienna (bought in 2005). I leased 2006 Sienna and it was a great vehicle. Then came 2011 Sienna, had some body issues - sliding door froze, slow heating system, windshield cracked 6 mths before lease-end. Now 2013 Sienna - all same body issues as 2011, already replaced a windshield, motors for both sliding doors, a motor for a rear tail gate, and a cable for rear folding seat. I drive upscale models, such as XLE, with each model, plastic dashboard is getting noticeably cheaper. From my personal experience, Toyota sales people have become too arrogant - we have best cars, can do no wrong. I feel great coming to Merz, but clearly not at those Toyota places, I went in the last 3 yrs. Service - oh boy! I need to come several times for the same reason to get it fixed..So, I am having a second thought on my plans buying 2015 Avalon.
