The Family Psychology Centre’s large roster of practitioners and wide variety of expertise enables us to deliver a comprehensive range of services to private clients, and the legal, educational, corporate, social service, health care, and ministry sectors. Our twenty-four staff and private practice associates can deal with a wide variety of problems and clinical situations. Psychological Assessment Services Psychological assessment is “a process that integrates test information with information from other sources (e.g.,information from the individual’s social, educational, employment, or psychological history)” (American Educational Research Association, American Psychological Association, and National Council on Measurement in Education, 1999, p. 3). Assessment is an investigative process, in which a psychologist collects data from several sources, forms a coherent picture of the person being assessed, develops a formulation of the issue, and uses his/her formulation to inform an intervention or decision. Usually, decision-makers like school jurisdictions, social service agencies, and Courts use the conclusions of formal assessments to allocate resources, decide what services to provide, or make conclusions in legal matters.
