SOCIAL MOBILE IN 2025

Mobile devices in 2025.

The travel-time between what we can imagine and what we can create continues to shorten.

Holding a mobile device and tapping through all of its magical capabilities was once beyond the imagination of many. Even today, few can intimately understand how our mobile devices do what they do.

With the speed at which these devices and their accompanying technology is advancing, we attempted to imagine the future of mobile and what we’ll be doing with it in 2025.

To tap, swipe and pinch may become something our children talk about as that thing those old folks used to do. To press a device to our ears might be seen as prehistoric behaviour.

It is arguable that 10 years is not enough time to see these kinds of changes, but these next 10 years are going to be threaded together with the kind of technological surprises and marvel that, currently, no one dare imagine.

We can guarantee that the internet of tomorrow will not be the internet we know today. We can assume that dramatic shifts will become evident in all aspects of our lives.

Wearable technology has yet to become an icebreaker you start a casual conversation with but their magical capabilities are soon to surround every fabric of our lives.

For better or worse, this technology will become more than a trend and certain occupations may benefit from their designs.

A contractor for example, is an important position that a machine cannot replace. Let’s assume that the new mega holding-company Alphabet is able to create a work-shirt specifically made for those who work long hours in the sun. This shirt keeps you cool and protects you from damaging UV rays.

These work shirts will double as communication devices. While you’re hammering away, you can call your coworker’s name.  On answer, you’ll hear their voice and speak to them through the digitally enhanced fabric of your Alphabet shirt.

This same shirt could act as a permission based Geo-locator providing coordinates of your employee’s exact location.  If a contractor opted to allow for surveillance, they could proactively monitor health & safety real-time be it weather or site conditions.  Conversely, they could see the successes of their employees in real-time.

In 2025, YouTube may even live-stream from any camera in the public domain. People will happily shuffle through hours of live feeds all over the world, wanting to be the first to capture, in real time, the successes of others.  With enough people around the world watching, your business could go viral and realize potential business leads through YouTube exposure.

This is only one of an infinite amount of possibilities as to how mobile will evolve in the near future.  As a small to medium sized business, you will have to adapt to the inevitable shift in technology.  What better time to start than now – contact sales@411.ca to learn more about our current social media offerings such as SocialSync for Business.
