In 2015, the Key Small Business Statistics — June 2016 edition stated the Canadian private sector employed over 11.6 million people. The majority of these people were employed by small businesses at 70.5% of private sector employment. Medium sized businesses employed 19.8% in contrast to large businesses which employed 9.7% of people. This just goes to show the role that SMEs play in producing jobs for Canadians.

This October we want to encourage entrepreneurs and small business owners to develop their ideas, and take the next step towards business growth.
