Thanksgiving is that great time of year when everyone gets together to appreciate what they have. For some of us it’s family time and for some of us it’s a time to get together with loved ones and enjoy each other’s company. We’ve put together a list of fun things to do this Thanksgiving and where you can enjoy a feast in Toronto.

Pumpkinfest Toronto

Pumpkinfest is full of autumn festivities, including a farmers market, bull riding contest, pumpkin carving contest, a food truck lineup and, of course, a pumpkin patch. It’s full of fun for the whole family to enjoy, and takes place Friday October 8th to Monday the 10th.

October Harvest Festival

This Harvest Festival starts Thanksgiving weekend and continues every weekend until Halloween, giving you plenty of time for family fun this fall. Although it’s an hour and a half away from Toronto, there’s plenty for the kids to enjoy. Kids will have fun at the Barnyard Adventure playground and play with the farm animals. There’s also a huge corn maze, wagon rides and a creativity corner.

Woodbridge Fall Fair

The Woodbridge Agricultural Society hosts its 169th Annual Woodbridge Fall Fair this Thanksgiving. They’ve got plenty of contests going on, including the giant pumpkin contest and a cow milking contest. Kids can learn about what it takes to be a farmer and visit the petting zoo to see some farm animals.

Casa Loma

Toronto’s most famous castle, Casa Loma, is hosting a Thanksgiving Harvest Brunch on Sunday October 9th. You’ll be able to enjoy an elegant brunch and then walk the food off around the castle. If you decide to attend, make sure that you make reservations as spots fill up fast for this glamours Thanksgiving.

Black Creek Pioneer Village

Black Creek Pioneer Village is a great place to spend your Thanksgiving. The village itself is an interesting experience, but they also put on Thanksgiving themed tours with horse-drawn wagon rides and samples of their historic ale. The Halfway House restaurant will feature a traditional three-course feast in the village including sweet potato bisque and a roasted turkey.

Old Mill Toronto

Old Mill Toronto is another gorgeous location where you can spend your Thanksgiving. They are offering you a chance to enjoy a brunch or dinner Thanksgiving buffet on their beautiful grounds on Sunday and Monday. It includes traditional favourites as well as an array of seafood specialties and many sweet desserts.

BONUS

The Great Gobbler

Can’t get enough of Thanksgiving? The Great gobbler has you covered. They offer a full Thanksgiving feast, year-round, with everything from turkey to mashed potatoes, stuffing and cranberry sauce. They just need 72 hours notice to prepare and they do all the work for you. You choose your menu and their chefs from L-eat catering will prepare it for you.

While there are many fun things to do this Thanksgiving weekend, it doesn’t really matter where you are as long as you’re with the people you care about and are thankful for what you have.
