Valentine’s Day is less than a week away, so if you haven’t already, it’s time to start planning. You should think about calling the florist, buying a card, and of course, making reservations. But the biggest problem for many people is deciding where to go in this city! Toronto has so many options, so we’ve narrowed it down for you.

Whether you’re going out with friends or your significant other, there are lots of fun things to do in the city. Here’s a list of ideas for where to take your Valentine this year!

1. Dinner/Brunch Date

Based on 411.ca reviews, we’ve chosen two restaurants you could check out this Valentine’s Day.

Marlowe is a top rated restaurant and wine bar in Richmond Hill, catering to a sharp, savvy, yet playful clientele. They also offer a creative late night entertainment and an atmosphere that ignites your senses. They even have a Valentine’s week menu starting today (February 9) so it’s definitely a place you should check out.

Leyle’s is another restaurant for you to try this Valentine’s Day, which serves a great selection of certified Angus steaks, organic meats and fresh seafood selections to satisfy every taste. However, since Valentine’s Day falls on a Sunday this year, consider changing it up and going for Brunch instead. Leyle’s has a Brunch Buffet with over 20 items to choose from, which is served from 10am to 2pm

2. Attend a Murder Mystery

If you’re looking to incorporate dinner into your plans but want to try something different, SpeakEasy! A Roaring 20’s Murder Mystery, is a great choice. This murder mystery dinner at Mysteriously Yours… Mystery Dinner Theatre, is perfect for couples or groups looking for some great food and entertainment this Valentine’s Day.

3. Go on a Sweets and Chocolates Tour

This suggestion is perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth. The Valentine’s Day Sweets and Chocolates Tour goes through Kensington Market exploring the history of sweets and Valentine’s Day, a visit to six sweet shops around the neighbourhood, special discounts, and lots of sweet treats.

4. See a Classic Film

Rainbow Cinemas Market Square is screening the classic, His Girl Friday, at 11AM and 11 PM this Valentine’s Day. Tickets are only $6 per couple and they’re giving away free chocolates! Need I say more?

5. Go to an Art and Wine Night

Valentine’s Day is all about expressing your love, so why not express your creativity, too? Paintlounge is hosting an event called Art & Wine with your Valentine, from February 12-14, featuring freestyle painting sessions and drinks. So, whether you’re talented artists or just a couple looking for something fun and unique to do this Valentine’s Day, check out this event!

6. Take a Dance Class

Sticking with the arts theme, try something fun and romantic like a dance class. Lula Lounge is top rated on 411.ca and has several Valentine’s Day options, such as Valentine’s Salsa Saturday, Lula’s Sunday Brunch, and a Valentine’s Day Romance & Dance With Payadora + Bachata Swing. All of these packages include meals, music, and beginner dance lessons.
